About the Mun
Name: JKat, or just Kat
Gender, pronouns, etc: Female, cis, therefore the usual.
Availability: Intermittent. Admittedly I am a slow tagger, if given to occasional bursty boomeranging.
Timezone: Pacific Time Zone (UTC-08:00)
Contact:
jkatkina, jkatkina at gmail, jkatkina on plurk, Katsup on tumblr; when in doubt search for 'jkatkina' on a piece of media and as far as I have ever been able to tell it's always me.
About: Design school grad makin' it in the real world as a technical writer/illustrator for a SaaS company, I also do freelance illustration on the side which means my days are pretty full. I'm pretty laid-back and frequently quite shy, but I'm always up for a lark on the internet.
I live in B.C. with my partner of 10ish years, though both she and I grew up in Alberta -- we jumped ship to the coast a couple of years ago and never looked back. I love the ocean although I don't get out to it as much as I really could, considering where I live. I've been doing this RP thing for something like the last fifteen years, although honestly, it's only lately that I'm seeking out new RP partners on such an open platform as DW.
Fandoms I know and love: BSG, Star Trek, anything Tamora Pierce, Mass Effect, a spattering of mid-to-late-90's anime... I'll probably add to this later.
Cross-Media, Cross-Canon: Assumed! My characters at the moment are all OCs without a specific canon, so, like, go crazy.
Smut: I like it, but I probably won't do it with you till we've established that we play well together.
Affection/Fluff: I am a big fan of fluff and positive character relationships! Sometimes the characters cooperate a little bit less, but if you want to figure out a way to make it work, hit me up and we'll talk because affection is fun.
Drama: Yes please! All kinds!
Death and Gore: Not my bag. Mostly I find it stressful. Character death as a climax of a long plot that we've invested time and energy in, and it makes sense? Sure. Off-the-cuff mutilations? No thx.
Character Relationship Building: Always! This! Yes please!
Triggers and Prefs: I have a soft spot for playing against other OCs, though I won't turn down fandom characters. I'm more into building character relationships through episodes that last for a handful of threads than I am into necessarily huge over-arching plots that take forever (mostly because for those it's so rare to see payoff!). I actually really like group threads, with three or four people, though on DW the logistics of that can get weird and frustrating. Things that deal with LGBT or poly themes are more than welcome, especially fluff in that direction.
I don't have any triggers as such, although I find casual mentions of rape and sexual assault disgusting, and the use of racial, sexual or ableist slurs distasteful.
List O' Others:
jkatkina } Mun's journal, mostly used for writing exercises, currently not much going on
ktfe } Kay Friave, OC. A snarky fire elemental wearing a human body. She's my more often-used character.
